OK, perhaps when I did (I ashamed to say I did) it was both for the benefit of my tutors and to annoy them.

Christgau is literally the worst.

Bangs never went near this level of drivel (drevil?).

I've always been under the impression these lot were a bit lightweight, but I think I liked their set they played at Glastonbury or something a couple of years ago. And I was surprised as to how many songs of theirs I knew.
