One of these days I'm going smash this album into tiny pieces?

Aren't SW and MW both forms of AM?Nightjar wrote:The Call of the Wendigo wrote:And you can hear mysterious Morse Code signals and no one knows what they are?The Call of the Wendigo wrote:Doesn't AM go all spooky and random at night?Guest wrote:I bet that was played all the time on FM radio. Or was it AM?
There's apparently a big difference or something.
Isn't that SW?

In the US of A on the Broadcast band (MW) in the 70s it's all Rock of a certain type.
These days it's all Rush Limbauh

Short Wave is all Radio China.
I keep meaning to set up my Shortwave radio, but I keep finding something more interesting to do.

I can't cope with all this 70s good taste AOR.
The fact it's not that MOR and bland makes it worse somehow.

Re: Eagles - One Of These Nights (1975)
This is the weakest track on the album by a long chalk.

Re: Eagles - One Of These Nights (1975)
Wavelength and modulation are orthogonal - most public broadcasting on SW is AM, but there is also FM SW.
MW and AM on one hand, and VHF and FM on the other, are used as if they're synonyms, but they aren''t.
Further adding to the confusion is the fact that VHF is described in frequency terms rather than wavelength. Those two are inversely related, so VHF could less confusingly have been called Very Short Wave.

It's a very subdued ending to the album.

Odd song to end on. Wonder how many people woke up 6 hours later with the needle still going around after listening to this.
The only thing remotely interesting it trying to work out what song it sounds like.
Neil Young's Helpless?
It is over.

It is over.
That was a very well-made album and nothing like as chillaxed as I recall it being, from my childhood days. However, it needed some more fast tracks and started to drag during the second half.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.
