Ooh, one of those fancy marine and air band radios.

I had a SW radio once so I could listen to the World Service during the day. But the reception was so variable that the results were disappointing.

They took off The World Service off SW, at least in Europe, it's chock ablock full of Official Chinese Radio Channels.

They took it off 648 KHz MW too, that was a sad day.

Luckily I can now get it on my fancy new DAB radios. I've got 4 so I can listen to it in every room.

Wonder why they never used FM? Does Short Wave FM not progate as well as AM?

I thought propagation depended solely on frequency and transmitter power. The modulation is just about what you do with the signal when it arrives.
