The bushiness or just rubbush?
Re: Kate Bush - Never For Ever (1980)
Everything Bush-wise comes together in perfect unison on this one.
Original, eccentric, tasteful, pretty, dark...

With the previous track the album finishes on a quite a political note.
I think this one's about the threat of a nuclear war.

Crikey! Even this managed to get to 16 in the hit parade.

Re: Kate Bush - Never For Ever (1980)
Is over.
It was a typical Kate Bush album. The singles are great and the other tracks are undisciplined cobblers.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

Well, y'know, I think it's an underrated album.
As a whole it has a very closely studied but effective feel and sound.
It's a more ambitious tilt at actual art by KB, but I suppose she's a little embarrassed by some of it ("Babooshka" for sure), but it's a fascinating watershed album, spanning her nascent years and the more 'mature' - but to my mind less entertaining/bit tiresome and angular - phase of her career.
Ultimately:
Babooshka > The Dreaming
No Rolf on the former track neither.

In 2020, Grazia magazine conducted an interview with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
When asked about the 5 most influential women in his life, Johnson placed Kate Bush at the fifth spot after deliberating between nominating Queen Elizabeth II, Margaret Thatcher, and Bush.
