I've overtaken cars that are doing like 53mph in a 60 and due to the angst I have performing such a manoeuvre in my underpowered car realised that I've exceeded the speed limit by a fair bit but then eased off straight away.

I did a very bad overtaking manoeuvre on a single-carriageway road on my last journey south, I gave myself a severe talking-to afterwards. It was a lesson to me not to get too hot and tired and annoyed.
