Funeral or cremation?
Re: Arcade Fire - Funeral (2004)
Ultra-gloomy final track.

Re: Arcade Fire - Funeral (2004)
It is over.
It was a pleasant enough listen but the songs were mostly uninvolving and relied, too often, on just having a lot of people playing at the same time, to give them the dynamism the melodies lacked.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

Well, after all these years (six years?) it still stands up today.
A very strong and strident and impressive debut album with lots to like and few bits to, if not forget, ignore.
It's worst moments were no more than a bit forgettable or overwrought and overlong, but its best moments are '00s decade defining, invigoratingly miserable and replete with lyrically intelligent, cryptic stadium rock killer-bangers to boot aboot.
