Now I really want to watch the banjo/guitar scene from Deliverance.

It is over.
It was difficult to see what the reason for its existence was.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

This Country/Bluegrass outro lays bear his misanthropy IMO.

Well, that was great. Thanks everyone, I haven't done this for ages.

My laptop has just told me 'You're waking up in 8½ hours.'
Whether I like it or not.

Re: Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells II (1992)
Done. Well, it was all just as good as I remembered. I know it's basically a 90s overproduced version of the original but at the time it bridged my dad's 60s/70s music with my then modern pop music so we could equally enjoy it together. Of course everyone thinks the original is better (as it probably is, and I love that too) but this one is my version and it's still great.
I'm still deciding on a score, but it's going to be high.

Oh, no, tone it down a bit Billy. That was pure Columbo level there…

Voted. Oops.
I'd probably give Tubular Bells the same, though for different reasons.

I believe, genuinely, that his exposure with LSD really f*cked him up for good.
He was a genuine prodigy and, despite forging a new musical stream-of-consciousness genre within the mainstream or prog rock and folk, I sense, from documentaries etc I've seen, that LSD and strong hallucinogens really messed his head up.
I can relate.

Re: Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells II (1992)
Ultimately however, it's not a good album.
Just a more slick retread of it's famed, albeit DIY, blueprint.
In truth we should be doing Ommawdan or Hergist Ridge.
Especially the former.

Re: Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells II (1992)
It's essentially a 90s remix album with some added contemporary parts.
