20 years old, 20… I'm like so old.
Re: Antipop Consortium – Arrhythmia (2002)
Deliberately lacklustre, ironic 'brand name' chanting.

Re: Antipop Consortium – Arrhythmia (2002)
Well, it was a fairly un-engaging album to/for me.
I can see where they trying to go, but it either wasn't far enough or it went off into sultry, swampy up-the-b*m regions.
Ultimately it didn't quite hold together.
The production was the most consistent aspect of the album, although I didn't like it at all that much.
There wasn't really an effective interplay between the rapping and the rest.
On purpose?
I'd prefer to think it was a failure on the band's part rather than a deliberately 'arch' device.
The rapping was OK - and occasionally amusingly stream-of-consciousness-funny (the 'pterodactyl/lipstick bit in particular) - and, despite not really knowing who any of the rappers were, I did get a reasonably strong sense of the band consisting various and discreetly different artistes (there were three of them, no?).

Re: Antipop Consortium – Arrhythmia (2002)
In summary, it's a brave man/woman/men/women who deviate from the norm in the hip-hop world.
Especially at the fringes and in the underground.
So, good for them, I say - like, they're obviously not trying to go all out to please anyoneblack.
Still, a track or two aside, I wouldn't really want to revisit any of it.
And I'm white!
