Sir Paul McCartney says he has employed artificial intelligence to help create what he calls "the final Beatles record".

He told BBC Radio 4's Today programme the technology had been used to "extricate" John Lennon's voice from an old demo so he could complete the song.

"We just finished it up and it'll be released this year," he explained.

Sir Paul did not name the song, but it is likely to be a 1978 Lennon composition called Now And Then.

I'm beginning see what a threat it is to the future.

It's like the endgame of fears that CDs would, cos you could skip tracks at will, harm a music listener's appreciation of an album (as a singular work of art) on vinyl with two sides. sad yes

Now you can skip all the pointless rubbish whereby and wherein a band or musician (or anybody who might want to create something and present it to the world for appraisement) conceives a notion and, driven by a desire to be acknowledged in some way, lays it - as they might their bollox and soul - on the train-tracks of public appraisal...

Oh no!

Now, it's all been done (culture blah blah

) and you can just punch a bunch of key-words into the latest DUHRR of AI software and it'll create something ab-humanly semi-convincing.

I seriously h8 this crap.
