I was hoping for a more distinctive - and perhaps eccentric, regional sound.

It was tedious drivel from start to finish.

Instead it was almost entirely made up of murky, but all-to-clean, sub-RZA production and had rappers who's 'schtick' wore pretty thin pretty quickly.

Also, as it went on, I felt that a really gratuitous, unnecessary and faintly pathetic vein of misogyny began to establish itself.

I dunno, perhaps they were a bit young and dumb back then and they've grown up a bit now, but with it any sense of irony or humour was crushed.

In the midst of it all there was really only one song of note - one I might look up or revisit - and that weren't enough.

Not really representing a very charming side of Yorkshire's finest city, were they.

I bet when people see that entrance in the brochure, they're desperate to stay there.

Ultimately, I would describe this album commentary as a failed experiment.

As a hip-hop fan I wanted to do something that, in a regional, cultural sense, might be of some added interest to Wendi despite the fact that she's not all that much of a fan of genre.

I may seek out some Sheffield/South Yorkshire hip-hop in future, but this time I'll research it properly first.

In the meantime, I apologise, humbly.
