It most certainly is.
I hope we're all going down to the NHOTW beach hut on Monday.
Not least cos we left Nightjar behind there in May.

And it's too cold and wet to go in search of somewhere that's open.

Yeah, I don't really fancy going to the beach hut today. We'll have to leave Nightjar there till next May.

Might skirt round the edges of Carnival and stop by at my Mum's then go and see my friend who lives 5 minutes away on Ladbroke Grove.
My Mum's used to part of the main route, but for about 5 years it's been a 'police control street'.

Well, I'm alone. A friend is coming over for a takeaway and some tv. My son left for France today. Sean is spending the weekend here from tomorrow. Tonight with his daughter.
I've put condoms out in a nice Michael Aram gold pomegranate bowl but he will probably want to leave them there. My good intentions regarding safe practice may melt on contact with his eyes.

Re: The ginormous August Bank Holiday thread
I myself celebrated the approaching holiday by not doing very much work this afternoon.

Re: The ginormous August Bank Holiday thread
Well my bank holiday plans have come to a premature end. The bed broke. So I'm waiting for The Handmaids Tale and will be sleeping in my sons room tonight, before shopping for a replacement tomorrow.
The slats? that hold the mattress in place collapsed on one side. They seem to have splintered so can't simply be placed back. Because it's a four poster, those fell down too. Sean suffered a blow to the head, and we were tangled in muslin drapes.
There was some blood but not much. I offered to take him to hospital but he's gone home instead. Probably just as well - my sofa is too short for him to sleep on.
In other news, Virgin seem to be closed - I called to have my landline changed after a friend googled my number and found it listed on Tajikistani and Israeli bugging lists. I've never been to Tajikistan.
PS - condoms remain unwrapped. I hope Boots is open tomorrow.
