It is over.
It was a proficient album that, apart from the first track, never rose above a certain standard.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

I can't remember, don't think so, we did the first one, I remember doing that one.

Oh, meh originals and lifeless covers by what sounds like competent but colourless session musos.
V. disappointing.

Hmm...
That was a potentially good 'project', but, despite the charming and sprightly opening hit (which still nonetheless faded out out after about three seconds), and a few decent tilts at some properly dusty classics (by early '80s standards that is), it was mostly spoilt by harsh, clattering, uneven production with all and sundry elements mixed all over the place.
Still, again, you'd have to be going quite far out of your way to hate it.

Well, that was all pleasant enough. Not thrilling exactly but it had some nice moments - namely Sign of the Times and the occasional use of the dated-tastic drum machine. It was mildly quirky, though nowhere near as quirky and entertaining as yesterday's offering. I'd definitely accept it into my collection should I stumble upon it at no more than 50p at a decent price!

Yesterdays was pure early 80s new-pop, this one was post Live-Aid SAWish clatter.

Isn't it two years before Live Aid?

Yes, but it sounded Mid to late 80s.

It might sound better on CD in the comfort of your own Butter-boudoir though.
I don't think the sound was too belied by the Youtube playlist, but I'm sure it'd still be a smoother and warmer aural experience once you started twiddling around with your gr*phic eq*aliser.
