A (probably) generous ★★★☆☆ from me.
It wasn't ever an overtly awful album and, on a couple of occasions, threatened to be actually quite good, but it was ultimately a load of songs that owed way too much to The Police of about 2 years beforehand propped up by the aforementioned surprisingly good songs and a couple of good rock-pop songs (that have obviously dated badly).
I think the problem is that the whole album has dated badly.
Even more than that dreadful 'surf-pop' rubbish we did the other day in fact.
The production was markedly good however.
