Holding. Empty Holding.

A thread to discuss that most modern activity, which we all have to spend significant sections of our 21st century lives doing - holding, for someone to answer or return.

I've been on hold for so long that the television music station I had on, which I paused at the beginning, has finally unpaused itself. Hold seems to have begun a second or two before Tina Turner began one of her anthems, so that crashing into the silence frightened the life out of me.
