It’s been great having all the windows flung open. I was extra thrilled by our luck when my son rang from Monaco to say the weather there was absolutely terrible. They went down there on Friday night, and are back tonight - and apparently it’s done nothing but rain buckets.

We also had overnight rain, and it was still drizzling at 5am.

It was grey this morning, but an hour ago the sun came out and now it's not quite so cold.

It clouded over rapidly by 9am, but as I drove north, the sun very gradually came out until by the time I got to Edinburgh it was a hot sunny day.
