I was convinced I was going down with a cold or flu yesterday, but I woke up feeling well (or as well as I ever feel at 3.30am).

My sore throat has turned into a full-blown cold now. I am bravely battling on.

I have Googled the symptoms of the Coronavirus to make sure I don't have it.

And it turns out the symptoms are exactly the same as for a cold, so that's a fat lot of use.

My office cellmate has returned after 2 days off sick, so I'll probably get whatever he had now.

Lots of the Chinese students are wearing those masks

Every time I hear of this Coronavirus I can't help thinking of the 90s dance band.

There was one in Poundland, about an hour ago, wearing a mask.

I'm now on the shivering because everything feels freezing phase.

That's my least favourite phase. At least the sneezing, coughing and vomiting phases make you feel like you're ridding yourself of badness. The shivering phase just makes you feel helpless and feeble.

My colds don't have a vomiting phase.

And I'm quite glad about it.

My symptoms would appear to be receding. Now I can't feel as heroic as I did.

I have developed a slightly sore throat and a hoarse voice.

I could really go a fortnight in bed and the potential for an oxygen mask. The last time I wore one I so enjoyed the lack of all effort that it entailed, I refused to remove it so they cut the supply.

I've now gone all stiff and sore around the waist.

This is probably the kidney failure kicking in.

Punch yourself in the sides. If it hurts a lot more than you expected, you might have kidney issues.

There's always an upside. I've discovered that Botox is considered effective for TMJ so I'm booked in for some injections, and will legitimately be able to tell people it's for medical reasons, not vanity.

My cough has almost gone. I've not sneezed in about 24 hours. My sore throat is gone. My potential kidney failure is still ongoing and my hands are now numb.

That last symptom isn't one I've had before from a cold.

I've got that 'I might be getting a cold' feeling in my nose and round my eyes.

I've just sneezed twice for no apparent reason

I've got a very, very slight sore throat, and feel tired. I can't tell if I'm coming down with something.

I'm just getting over mine.
