What's wrong with nectarines? They weren't tinned. I sliced them myself.

I think it's because she dosn't like the feel of the flesh as she penetrates into the fruit and juice starts to run along the tongue as thrust deeper into…

Sorry, had a bit of a funny turn there.

Slicing and use of forks cuts all that out.

I like nectarines. It's peaches I can't stand.

I had to leave an NHS doctors surgery a few months ago because a woman in the waiting room was noisily sucking a juicy peach. It was absolutely disgusting. With pelvic muscles etc involuntarily twitching at this totally unwelcome, almost sexual racket going on, I had to run outside. From where I had to call the reception to say I would be waiting out there so could the doc come out for me when he was ready.

I couldn't risk asking her to shut up because I was on the verge of violence. Even as I think about it now, I could tear every hair on this peach suckers head and body out with my bare hands. While screaming at the top of my voice, both to release my tension and tell her my views on her manners.

I made gammon risotto again. I even deglazed the gammon pan to make the stock.

If I have a criticism it is that I cooked the gammon too long and slowly, so - while deliciously tender - it broke up into strands, whereas I prefer it a bit firmer and neatly diced.

I only recently found out that gammon is a type of food. For many years I also thought mutton was a Dickensian plot device to denote greed versus gruel.

I suppose I must've known it had some connection to lamb because of the saying, but I didn't know what and never gave it much thought.

I've realised why my kidney beans kept coming out too soft. I was boiling them for 50 minutes PLUS the 10-minute toxin-dispersing vigorous boiling period.

The 10 minute bit is supposed to be part of the 50 minutes.

I was on the internet upstairs early this morning while boiling a batch of beans downstairs in the kitchen, when suddenly I smelt gas!

The beans had boiled over and put the gas flames out. That's the first time that's happened to me in 32 years at the cooker.
