Re: The cash cash money thread
Across the portfolio I've lost 6 grand this week. I have a new weekend ritual of seeing what new level of rubbishness the houses I can now afford have reached.

You should've bought immediately. You can always sell on, but you can't always buy in.

Great area. Nice flat. Affordable price.

Ready to move into or start renting out. Beautiful communal areas, large garden. Don't wait - you'll just end up discovering all the lifeboats have left while you waited for some undefined miracle.

Hmm, looks poky, despite the wide angle lens camera work.
It's been finished to a relatively high standard, that's all.
The living room is the best thing about it.

Re: The cash cash money thread
That is a nice flat, but parking looks a bit nightmarish. Also in that part of Glasgow you're paying a premium to be in a fashionable area.
I've made my bed with the property thing and now I've got to lie in it.

I'd happily live in it. I don't see anything poky about it. I especially liked the bath/shower alcove, which looks like a very relaxing corner. You want a fashionable area rather than an unfashionable one.
Parking is just one of those compromises unless you're buying a house with a driveway - I've never lived in an easy parking area. I pride myself on being able to edge into parking spaces nobody else would try.

I'm sure nobody would mind - they'd probably love you for it - if you took it upon yourself to tart up the garden. Over a few years, you could make that absolutely stunning. It's huge, and currently very sparse. You could do wonderful creative things there.
Then you'd have a fashionable flat near decent public transport and local walkable shopping, with an incredible garden paradise in which to socialise with grateful neighbours, and a secret bath/shower alcove to relax in after all the planting and pruning.

Re: The cash cash money thread
If I was to live there I would like to divide that garden into quarters. With a very formal central path, giving way into four 'rooms'.
The central corridor area sort of like so...
The four rooms, I'd have an all white moon garden, a more exotic one complete with rubber plants if necessary due to hardiness zone, an organic rose and traditional floral plant garden, and the final one as a decked area set aside for barbecue facilities/children's play area etc, with fruits, vegetables and herbs for the building.
That would be a nice project.

Re: The cash cash money thread
Obviously at some point you'd want to railroad the rest of the neighbours gently encourage the community into refreshing the communal areas, getting waxed floral arrangements on the fireplace, on stands outside the individual flat doors, etc like so...
Getting some art and sculpture, hanging a couple of chandeliers, a big central table with more flowers, a few easy chairs to wait for taxis to arrive, new flooring, a grand rug etc.
Looks like the sort of building where you'd be living alongside lecturers, young professionals, the comfortably divorced, maybe a sweet old dear who's been there forever.
And all yours for under £200k.
As to parking - I can see from the side street (coincidentally that's what you look out onto, rather than the main road) that it's not only a restricted zone for resident permits, but the spaces are strictly delineated with white paint - so very much not a free for all.
I'm very excited for you.

Come on everyone, let's encourage Fangirl to become a woman about town, with a great flat in a landmark building in a fashionable area, from which to launch the next chapter of her life and entertain those in it - both old and new friends.
With exciting potential offered by the property and land itself that could become the work of many happy weekends and several summers of increasing satisfaction, topped off with the joyful ease of a clearly delineated parking regime.

It says that 2021-22 was the last year in which I needed to do so. But I didn't do one that year.
Fanmum 3 reports that a bulky envelope has arrived at the family seat. It's from HMRC and has DEADLINE OCTOBER 31ST on it in big red letters

Re: The cash cash money thread
They're probably just trying to wish you a happy Halloween.
In related news, I might need to buy a new iPad. YouTube keeps crashing. I've tried to watch my favourite mentalist Republican, Michelle Bachman, talking about the 'End of Days' about seven times and it just crashes every time. Can't check my emails.
I really like this iPad. It was a gift from my mother. All my things are on it. I've got used to the crack in the screen made when it fell down the side of a radiator when I fell asleep last year. I know how it all works. I'll be really upset if I have to replace it.

I will open it myself when I go there on Monday to do my laundry.

It's January 31st if you do it online, which I intend to.
