I absolutely despise early spring. It's at this time of year everything looks so wrecked, barren, and bleak. The threat of seeing taste offending daffodils everywhere you go grows by the hour.

The unrelenting shadow cast by lengthening evenings from now on darkens the mood of insomniacs everywhere, because we know it won't be until August or so that a reasonable light/dark balance is restored.

As if all that wasn't bad enough in isolation, it's still bl**dy freezing through March. All the while, people are raving on inanely about how much they love spring. There's no comfort to be taken from any of it.
