Re: The Weather Thread Part 2.
Well I didn't look happy so that's ok. I wasn't expecting such a serious queue. One at a time, door opens, temp check, in you go, door locked.
Apart from all that, I'm going to have to repeat the entire process on Friday or Monday, thereby placing my own and potentially others lives at risk.

Re: The Weather Thread Part 2.
I've been marching to M&S most days at about 5:30pm with a determined look on my face - and, as of today a serious, yet faintly silly-looking mask you use for heavy-duty sanding work that I found in my t**lb*x.
I've crossed the road, walked in the road and scowled at people who've dared come near me.
I've gone in M&S (the lovely Somali security guard is there holding the door open for everyone going in and out - he really is a very sweet and fine chap) which has been almost completely empty and within 3 minutes have exited with two bottles of wine.
I've then marched home, disr*bed, thoroughly washed me hands and wiped over the bits of my my flat with a bleachy cloth I've touched since being in, washed my hands thoroughly and, after doing all the washing up, begun drinking.

Re: The Weather Thread Part 2.
In the Co-op today I was asked 'would you like anything else?' and I heard myself say 'Yes, a bottle of vodka please, a big one.' The desperation in my own voice appalled me.

It's exciting to hear that there are now supermarkets that have anything else to offer.

It was only because it's one of those small stores where all the spirits are behind the counter.
Having said that, guess what I saw in the Tesco Express which I visited next.
Eggs! I haven't seen an egg for 2 weeks.

But it brought boozy dividends it seems.

Re: The Weather Thread Part 2.
I actually forgot to wash my hands when I entered the flat after my failed pharmacy excursion. It's a bit late to do so now, so that might well be the death of me.
My mother is keeping contained. Her best friend came round with a can of Coke - they stood across the road from each other to have a chat, so that's inventive.

Dividend cards not being accepted at the moment. They're supposedly going to do them retrospectively after the cessation of hostilities.
I hope we win btw, because I'm b******d if I can work out who we surrender to otherwise.

As a fellow bubble person, that's how I go about my normal day to day activities.
My great grandmother was of the opinion that apart from ports and airports, one should valiantly attempt to refrain from venturing north of the park, south of the river, or east and west of the palaces (Buckingham and Kensington respectively).

I hope that doesn't mean their chosen charity of the month is going without. I tried to donate in a Coop and they said to do so I needed to get a card. So I did, and then I needed to register it via some sort of email confirmation. What a palaver it all was. This was at the Broadwater Parade branch in Worthing, so perhaps they're just especially difficult.

This is the very branch...
Pictured mere minutes after I'd been told that to donate, I faced a long and complicated procedure.

Sadly the charity token scheme has also been suspended for the duration.

That really is a shame. I've always been very impressed by the sums collected for each cause. And impressed by each cause itself, they seem to be very well chosen and the local instead of national focus must boost the generosity of shoppers - guide dogs, dementia community groups, disabled kids and carers, RNLI. Essential things like that, which are already run on shoestring budgets.

I went out yesterday saw a friend and had a chat.
From the other side of the road.
That's not a joke.

It's another lovely day here, but a bit colder and with more high cloud.
