A nice looking family really, and they seem very affectionate with each other which is also attractive.

Natalie Dyer looks more like Timothee chalamet's sister than his actual sister

He was gawjus but I thought he was hotter looking in 'Her'. Probably speaks to how damaged I am in the brain case, but I love a good 'stache and glasses combo

Tosh was indeed the Man.
Have you seen "Hell in the Pacific"?

Re: The temple of male beauty
Yes, in fact I think it was the first movie that had a Mifune performance in it. I think for most people Yojimbo, Seven Samurai or Rashomon are typically the first.
I 'enjoyed' it. Although I can see why a 1960s US audience might have been displeased with the ending, I thought it was great/shocking and very appropriate; for all that build up, struggle and 'debate' between and the two characters only for it to all to be pointlessly snuffed out by a shell seems only fitting for the wider themes of the movie . A 2020 audience would be more open to it I think.

Re: The temple of male beauty
That ending isn't the proper one.
Boorman was mightily p*ssed off that the studio made it end so abruptly and destructively.
The original ending has - after Tosh has been shaken badly by the pictures he sees in the copies of Life he leafs through - the two descending back into a tense, querulous and finally belligerent state.
They start arguing with one another, but of course don't understand a word the other's saying.
Finally, after they've clearly retreated back to more-or-less the state they were in at the beginning of the film, both men rise and, turning their back's on one another, walk away in opposite directions into the dark shadows of the bunker...
FIN

Re: The temple of male beauty
It's quite tricky to find a copy on DVD etc that has that ending, but I think that modern telly versions have it as it was supposed to be.
Unfortunately I bought a DVD of it a year or so ago to watch with my Grandpa and it had the "BOOOM!" ending.
My Grandpa, who had enjoyed it immensely up until that point said it spoiled the whole film.

One film I've yet to see is Ánimas Trujano. I'm curious, as far as I'm aware he didn't speak a word of spanish and is entirely dubbed throughout, which just sounds so delightfully odd?

Re: The temple of male beauty
How about John Lazar as the marvellously Machiavellian and deliciously dissolute Z-Man from BTVOTD.

Re: The temple of male beauty
You are free to post beautiful men without asking my opinion of them. Strangely beautiful but no, not for me.
I prefer my my contribution, and offer the following defence...
I presume duuuur means stupid? I don't get that vibe. I think he wasn't a pretty child so he has grown up without arrogance, and grown into his features - meaning he'll have had to analyse things/society deeply and therefore can't be thick. At some imperceptible point between late adolescence and adulthood, he and those in proximity realised they had a hunk on their hands, and he's been in and out of many beds ever since, picking up and honing all kinds of techniques. That's what I think.

Re: The temple of male beauty
I wasn't asking your opinion of him specifically.
Y'know, CT, when you start a thread that's, by its very nature, subject to the whims and turbulent winds of fickle subjectivity, not everything posted therein has to pass under the OP's gimlet eye of approval.
Well, not unless you say, for example, from the outset something like "this thread serves as a visual showcase of cosmictanya's sole conceptual domain of male beauty as viewed both as inextricably entwined objective/subjective a priori states of "ooh, hello, I'd like a bit of that" and therefore, furthermore, and in no uncertain terms, any deviation from said aesthetic objective/subjective standards will be viewed either dimly, with disdain, with pitying incredulity, outright disgust and/or all of the above.
Or something.

No no, I respect your and others contributions, and appreciate that beauty is subjective. You carry on.
