Several years ago now, Worth made an ill fated return to the word of fashion and I was quite taken by one of their ruff topped creations when I saw a woman wearing it at a meeting. We had a great chat about it, and my perception that the House of Worth was more the House of Elliott than the House of Tudor.

Looking now some of their stuff was really great. I'd wear this bodice if it was attached to a floor length column rather than having a tutu skirt. With a floor length column and chandelier earrings this would be fab...

Since I came across a mock up of Elizabeth I looking like a chic lecturer from Hampstead, I've been a fan of concept of sixteenth century personages in modern clothes...

No, I see a fiercely intellectual manner and rather jaded person with expensive but slightly eccentric style. I wouldn't think she was out of place on the platform at Belsize Park, on her way to the LSE or somewhere to lead a conference.
