The Mighty Mega-Marvy Mellotron Thread

Too wonderful to be lumped in with a general synths and electric keyborks thread, the Mellotron...
Just a box with some placcy keys attached to a weird bunch of tapes that had to go round before you could...
Oh, I don't know really know how it worked, suffice to say its genius stemmed at least in part from its limitations.
Anyway, no other invention in the field of human struggle has managed so aethereally to match and even transcend the magic of a full-blown symphony orchestra...

Watching that makes me realise Barry Grey must have used a Mellotron on his Captain Scarlet soundtracks.
