And that means the brand new Number One on this week's UK singles chart is River by Ellie Goulding which has moved up 10 places to claim the top spot, despite not having the word "Christmas" in its title.

Has it managed the magnificent feat of being a Number One that has spent just one week on the chart?

Arga range against the Machine (on the Sony label, which incidentally was the same record company who brought out the X-factor winner single) dropped down to 40.
Hang on, it dropped from 1 to 2, then down to 40.

Now for the album chart.
I suspect it will be a lot less busy than the singles chart.

Abbey Road is back in at 38. It has now racked up 211 weeks on the chart.

And that means that You're In My Heart by Rod Stewart is still Number One on the UK album chart.

You have to hand it to Rod. He's the only one I can think of of his generation who can still spend a month at the top of the album chart.

His last album only got to Number Three here and only spent one week at Number One in America.
