Yes, it did strike me that Venus and Mars was recorded in New Orleans, so local musicians could be used.

AT is black rather than Creole/Cajun however.

This is very Sunday afternoon listening. In a good way.

This is a bit Barry White without the deep vocals.

The only thing about Allen Toussaint is that his vocals are slightly weak.

Lacking range and depth of timbre.

He was always more of a songwriter, musician and bandleader than front man, but I find his vocals wonderful by the veery nature of their limitations.

This is one of the album's weaker tracks.
