Frank Chickens or Two-Faced Turkeys?
Re: Frank Chickens - We Are Frank Chickens (1984)
I'm getting very close to a ★ score, if I'm being honest.

What's this obsession with ranking everything?

I went ★, it was just so, very very boring. I almost gave up on this one.
Can't but help feel that the production made it so grey and inspid, but I get the impression that the actual music underneath was yr. bog standard early 80s musical theatre tiresomeness as well. I think. It's not like I can actually remember it now. Lol.

It was a very disappointing album.
The Chickens in all honesty (geddit? ) were a charming and funny pair, but it seems that any vivacity and talent was swamped by the dull production and musical backing.
I do think that ★ is pretty harsh, but it was indeed a wearisome listen.
I've given it ★★★ for the gals alone.
When they were rhythmically singing (rapping?) in unison it really did work.
Many of the tracks were unnecessarily long.
Ultimately, perhaps we're just way more familiar with Japanese culture now and it was more culturally interesting back in the early '80s?

Re: Frank Chickens - We Are Frank Chickens (1984)
Incidentally, I remember seeing them on telly (probably The Tube) and when they were being interviewed they started singing a Japanese school playground rhyme in their typical rhythmic fashion.
They were then asked (probably by Muriel Gray) if they could translate the words into English and they cracked up laughing.
Then they said it was, if I remember properly, something like "the badger's b*llocks are swinging in the moonlight".
