There is an excellent Employment Tribunal decision where the sacked bloke and his mate had this running email joke about one of their colleagues, based on some highly r*cist Derek and Clive thing. The jollies continued until one day his mate accidentally CC'd the target colleague into his reply.

I've found a barbed comment in my diary from 2016. 'Our boss always listens to new people, you have to work here at least 10 years before your opinion counts for nothing.'

I got a letter this morning from the top man, thanking me for my service and awarding me £250 with which to buy a suitable gift for myself.

I'm supposed either to bring, or send photos of, the gift to some event they're holding for the long service peeps. So it probably shouldn't be gin, or 11 days of storage unit rental.

What about a cushion?

I bought two e-readers. For the photo I'm going to set them to display satirical passages about the type of institution I work for.

In other news, I have received a substantial pay-rise because they can't recruit new people, and the existing people keep leaving to get better pay elsewhere. I think they're afraid I'll follow suit.

Just as well too, I'm paying £24 a litre for vodka some weeks now. £24!
