My neighbour's put out two recycling boxes full of Brewdog IPA cans
Also I'm fairly sure there isn't a can collection tomorrow.

Loudly chuck them one by one into their front garden.

Is Brewdog quite nice? My mother has switched to beer because she doesn't like it. I bought her two 12 boxes of Mexican stuff that was on sale in Sainsburys. She said it was good, but it's finished now.

Re: The drinking less thread
Brewdog is just a brewery, not a single beer.

What do you recommend? I saw Coors on the cheap shelf but there was a recent mass shooting in the factory, so I wouldn't be getting her any of that because it might be tainted.

Re: The drinking less thread
Coors is just horrid American lager.
Like Budweiser (not Budvar).
Brewdog's most well-known beer is probably Punk IPA.
You'd only like that if you like cold, American-style IPAs - strong on hoppy, citrusy flavour and alcohol volume (5% or so).

5% seems abnormally low? I like a dry alcohol, but it's more for her - she'll drink anything, that's the problem.

Re: The drinking less thread
5% isn't low for a beer.
It's standard strong.
If you venture above 6%, 7% you're looking to get plastered quick.
Any of that 8-10% stuff is a head-turner whether it's cheap or fancy.

Re: The drinking less thread
Why are the percentages so low in comparison to spirits? My sisters cousin had a housewarming (more of a street party really) in New Addington where several tables were stacked with cans of Special Brew. I didn't have any, the branding didn't appeal. There were a lot of very drunk people, and some real displays of aggression.
When the neighbours complained, some fellow guests demolished their front wall and launched the garden gates and a driveway lamp at the windows.

Re: The drinking less thread
Special Brew is amazing stuff, even when I could handle my ale, I couldn't finish one can.

I was always (if 'always' means 'that brief period in late 1989 before I discovered the superior cheapness and portability of wine in 1 litre tetrapaks') more of a Tennants Super fan.

McEwans Jamaican, put into the freezer until it went like a slush puppy when poured into a glass.

I used to dream about that stuff… A place I went to was selling it off cheap, I forget the exact details

There wasn't a can collection
Also, how did the 'drinking less thread' turn into the 'drinking loads thread'.
Mind you, that is a pretty good metaphor for my own 'progress'

I'm going off for a walk around the same boring streets but when I come back I can get completely drunk.
If I wanted to.

Re: The drinking less thread
I had a disinfected cloth to take carry it back inside where I washed it thoroughly in piping hot water.
