I'm having champagne because I'm down to my last ranitidine. It's the only acid reducing medication that I find compatible with drinking, and you can't get it any more because there's some kind of contamination issue with the worldwide manufacturing process.

So I thought I'd make my last comfortable night of drinking a high class one.

I didn't reckon with the neighbours' power to spoil it though.

Lanson no less. The Co-op didn't have the cheap champagne I usually buy, so I had to go back to the Tesco Express and drop £25 on the good stuff.

My contract at work ended on Friday. The other people who work there bought me chocolates, flowers and a bottle of Jack Daniels as a goodbye present.

I have just drunk half a pint of Jack Daniels. Now to see what effect it has on me.
