I have just woken from a relentless dream in which I was working at a car dealership in Milan for €24,000 per year, while having to commute there with dogs pulling sledges, skis, trains, buses, and on foot, through blizzards and snowdrifts from a rented room above a pub in Siberia. Saying I couldn't make it in cut no ice - I had to be at my black glass desk before opening each morning.

Had a very long dream about trying to get my parents' car out of a hotel car park. Paul Shane was using the hotel's meeting room. He looked just like he did in the eighties, except that he was literally twice as wide, as if he'd been given a horizontal stretch in a 3D paint program. An unnerving sight.

I had an awful nightmare last night. I had become vaguely famous for doing all kinds of wholesome things like taking people on country walks and for swims in the sea, and suddenly it all went wrong. Someone found a chart of Antarctica that I'd drawn, and they thought it was a map of of Cambridgeshire and that I was lying about where the A10 was, and immediately I was 'cancelled' and people were accusing me of all sorts, hostile journalists interviewing me on trains. And I was facing extradition to the US as well.

When I finally woke up I was scared to begin the day, in case I did whatever it was that made everything go wrong in the dream.

God that was a grim dream. I still haven’t recovered from that car showroom shift after such a hellish journey.

Tired out after a day on the customer service course yesterday, I had nightmares all night. I'd been sacked from my first job in 1997, and gone to work at Tesco as a customer assistant, and I was getting everything wrong.

Later during the night I was yelled at by Charles Hawtrey for nearly messing up a picture he was painting, forced to climb down the pillar of a very high flyover, and hauled over the coals for painting a yellow line by the side of the road instead of a white one.

The last act was romantic confusion with an ensemble cast of people from all different times in my life. I was one of the ones who ended up without a partner, but I did get an OBE and a necklace of meth crystals as consolation.

I dreamt I was in Ireland, and blundered through an electronic ticket barrier, and had to pay a 26 euro fine, and wear a placard stating what I'd done.
