Adam and the Ants or Saddo and the Pants?
Re: Adam and the Ants - Kings of the Wild Frontier (1980)
It's a shame that the album falls away as it does.
Side 2 starts with such a flourish that it galvanises the sense of the album's depth and sheer fun.

It is over.
That is an album which came and went without ever feeling like it arrived.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everyone else made of it.

I think I over rated it, 4 Star thingies is more like it.
I liked the singles and Ant Invasion but that one on side 1 and and the last couple of tracks dragged it down a bit.

See, BorkleZ, you voted too soon.
You were enveloped in the apex of the album's sweet spot and forgot that there was ample time for AAatAs to Booger it up at least a little bit.

I'm scared to. It might make everyone else mad at me.

I reckon Wendi got faintly dismayed/repulsed by our adolescent boy excitement, BorkerZ.

Maybe it was an album for 10 year boys?

I sensed that we'd both regressed to a mean-age of about 14 when the record 'peaked' and Wendi was just looking on a like a faintly embarrassed girl of 18.

And that we both had Elastoplasts on the bridge of our noses and were trying to air-drum to two drum kits at the same time.
