Xanadu or Sad Adieu?
Re: Various Artist - Xanadu (1980)
This song cannot be knocked.
I will repel all knockers.

It may be the best song Jeff Lynne has ever written.

Re: Various Artist - Xanadu (1980)
It is over.
That was an album of two halves. The first, apart from the opening track, was mostly forgettable. The second didn't find ELO at their very best but does feature two absolute belters from them and finds them on the brink of transition from late 70s Disco act to early 80s Synth act.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everyone else made of it.

It was too soundtracky, it need the rolladisco dancing to accompany the music, especially side 1.

It's like the Carousel scene in Logan's Run - but with roller skates.Nightjar wrote:The Call of the Wendigo wrote:Awww, it feels like there should be another song after it but there isn't.

It might seem strange to some - indeed many - but that has brought me to tears.
1980.
Hard times.
