This is proper Lou Reed's Transformer.
Also, some of Elton.

Re: Dire Straits - Making Movies (1980).
It is over.
I do feel its first half is noticeably stronger than its second, the first three tracks of the album being stone-cold classics. The second half is, in places, clearly less inspired. Because of that, I shall rank it slightly below Love Over Gold and give it four stars.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everyone else made of it.

It's the middle bit of Maxwell's Silver Hammer.
I really liked Les Boys.

Re: Dire Straits - Making Movies (1980).
That was really like "Goodnight Ladies" from Transformer.
Not only theme-wise but that it was the final track.
A decadent and languidly dissolute CODA to a beforewitnessed study of technically astute and not entirely un-soulful Bluesy-pub-rock aesthetic raised to the nth power.
It was also good because it showed - possibly conspicuously so - that they were from London.

Jayzik Azikiwe was a Gambian singer who died of cancer in her 40s.

I'm sure it was both.Fangirl Three wrote:The Call of the Wendigo wrote:National Guitar being used as such things were meant to be used.
Does that mean the line in Graceland, about how the 'Mississippi delta, was shining like a national guitar' isn't a metaphor about America at all, it's just a simile?

Who hasn't voted then?
I've compiled a list of all the albums that I judge to have been lacking votes etc...
