Re: Roxy Music - Siren (1975)
I'm not very happy, to put it mildly, to find comments invited on Roxy Music. Anyone who goes lower than five stars on any of their output needs to spend a couple of years in a brutal re-education facility. Siberia, North Korea, Guantanamo - I don't mind which.
It was with a heavy heart that they didn't make my top ten list, itself now set in stone. Their cover of Jealous Guy is my favourite song in the world. Especially the extended version. Sometimes, late at night, on repeat, I use it to take me to places that no longer exist.

Well, I've created this thread because I think it's their best album (along with their debut, self-titled one) and, if you dare, you might want to contribute to the commentary.
I imagine that your humours aren't balanced enough.

Not heard it.
Of the 3 I've heard, I like the second more than the first. but they are both good, and Flesh + Blood which both sucks + blows.

I have contributed. And I've voted. If I see anything untoward or overly critical, your computer screens will be like the end scene from Carrie.

Re: Roxy Music - Siren (1975)
My YouTube has insulted me with a Belinda Carlisle cover of Jealous Guy. Now, I like a couple of Belinda's great hits - namely 'Heaven Is A Place on Earth' and 'We Want The Same Thing', but I hope she fired whoever told her she was up to doing this.

Those two anthems in my experience, are especially suited to driving a string of convertible sports cars, belonging to your husband/extended in laws, around Athens, with the roof off and the speakers up.
The locals have criminal music taste anyway so there's no need for embarrassment, and the beat of both Belinda hits gives the energy required to get ahead on the take no prisoners obstacle course of Athenian roads.

Likewise Bruce's 'Born To Run'. Although the choice of Wendy for the girls name is unfortunate. There are many other two syllable female names that would work better, like Tanya.

Octo is a reference to the album Octopus by the band Gentle Giant.

I've got it on now. A sexy song, by a sexy guy. Is there anyone on earth who'd have turned down a weekend in a hotel suite with Bruce Springsteen in his 20's and 30's?
I bet even the queen would've been flat on her back waiting impatiently for him to finish signing autographs outside.
