I love that dripping water in a cave synth sound.

It saddens me that, after this album, Bev's drumming tended to be neutered by the production.

The full 'retreat of the massed Russian peasants into the icy tundra' choir is back with a vengeance.

Re: ELO - A New World Record (1976).
It is over.
That was the perfect fusion between the band's rougher, rockier roots and their later, more polished sound. Bev's drumming is in full force, Patti Quatro adds an extra something vocally, the strings are totally on-point, the keyboards are magical. As I've said before, for me, that's easily their best album.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everyone else made of it.

I don't believe that Wendi bothered to look to see whether there was an erroneous 'bonus' track tacked on the end of the playlist has noticed.

Re: ELO - A New World Record (1976).
Anyway, I won't hold that against it.
It is, in solemn truth, a very very entertaining album.
The highs are about as high as they get in the Rock/Pop stakes and the lows were simply a bit nondescript, yet inoffensive.
I am torn as to how it should be marked.
I may mull it over.
