Oh good, the longest track on the album.

This is a bl*nking car-crash.
The aural equivalent of the neighbours doing DIY on a Sunday morning when you've got a severe hangover.

Shout outs.
Guru.
Now, he could learn a few things about flow and cadence from him.

Re: Danger Mouse - The Grey Album (2004)
It is over.
That was a bit of a mess. The Beatles samples were, for the most part, a poor fit for the rapping parts and the rapping parts were, generally, tedious.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

I've been lurking.
Gets a point for being a good idea.
However the execution is appalling. Doesn't groove, doesn't mesh, Doesn't do anything with either the Beatles or Jay Z:
It simply doesn't work. Zero points for the product.
Just compare this disaster to:
Yes, Kool Keith is better than Jay Z, Yes Pink Floyd are better than the Beatles, ( ) but just listen to it, he does something with the beats. It's not just just a couple of samples slapped on, and ofter off the beat with less skill that I could do it with an unexpanded Atari ST and a hacked copy of Cubase.
2 Stars out of 5, and it only gets that because, as I say it was a good idea.

That is a track I could imagine Burl Ives covering

I will give the album one star, as it doesn't work at all.

And a good thing too.
Wow!
I didn't think it was going to be as hard a listen as all that.
There was one small purple patch when...
Actually, no, there was only one track that genuinely worked and that was - as I said on page one of this thread - Encore, which sampled in good old fashioned loop style the wonderful Glass Onion.
Anyway, it was a good idea that ultimately fell down on the execution - considerably.
It genuinely sounded like a precocious kid arsing about in his bedroom with Pro-Tools and two scuffed vinyl discs.
As I said before, someone like the RZA would've done an infinitely better job.

Re: Danger Mouse - The Grey Album (2004)
The more I think about it, the more leaden and dreary this was. I would downgrade it to ★.
If I could.
If I could.
