Pacific Ocean Blue or Pacific Ocean Poo?
Re: Dennis Wilson - Pacific Ocean Blue (1977)
It is over.
I felt that was a decent album that suffered from a shortage of uptempo tracks which meant it tended to drag in its second half. The good bits were highly appealing.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

I shall give it three stars because it lost momentum at times.

It started off sounding like The Beach Boys, only slower. Got interesting, and actually good towards the middle, I liked the horns on Dreamer, Thoughts of You and Time were good.
Then it went back to the Beach Boys on at the wrong speed.
I'm not sure what to give this. I'm getting a little bit bored of 70s boomers music to be honest.

My review:
What's Wrong is a bit pedestrian, but I could never give this album anything less that a 10 stars.
In truth you might need to immerse yourself in the Beach Boys narrative and all that it entailed - it's truly entailed - to find an emotional connection.
Anyway, if you do, then the music - for all of its faults and mercuriality - takes on a deeply emotional and personal quality.

I'm disappointed by the final overall score.
It genuinely deserved better.
Not much better perhaps, but better.
