Sally can't Dance or Billy Don't Be a Hero (or vice-versa I suppose)?

This one isn't overly burdened with melodic ideas.

A bad Bob Dylon effort.

Although Good Taste is better than a few tracks on the proper album.

Re: Lou Reed - Sally Can't Dance (1974)
It is over.
It was OK but, as always, the lack of any kind of emotional commitment in his vocals makes it hard for me to get into his music.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

It's all like the band is incredibly good - each individual musician at least - but Reed is really contemptuously slouching about in a half-arsed way.
The album gets caught between two posts - songs that are basically rejects from Berlin and then potentially exciting funk-rock tracks that are undeveloped and a bit paltry.
Still, in context of a particular artiste's canon and oeuvre, it's not musically hateful and is contextually interesting.
If you can get past Lou Reed's overwhelming efforts to make you dislike the whole venture that is.

Re: Lou Reed - Sally Can't Dance (1974)
Is this what Doctor and the Medics' Barbara Can't Dance was getting at?
