Re: Bauhaus - In the Flat Field (1980)
I liked it. It sound like bands I like so I like it.
Sorta.
Well, I would have, but I've kinda got bored of all stuff I liked that they sound like.

That was a bit half-hearted.WhatDoesThisButtonDo? wrote:The Call of the Wendigo wrote:I bet that, when they did this live, he did that daft dance that singers of this kind of band did.

I really thought that that was a pretty pathetic album.
A half-*rsed syncretism of the tail-end of superior bands, whilst still aping artists who were elderly by their standards yet who were already moving on to pastures new.
It's like the equivalent of seeing Werner Herzog's version of Nosferatu and going "yes, that's what cinema should be like - let's put it under glass, pretend we own it and reproduce it ad nauseam to morons who've never seen either version".
I genuinely expected the album to be, perhaps not very original, but solid and recalcitrant in its vision, bu' i' wern.
Bloody Goths.
Used to fancy them, never got any 'play'.
Except from Tessa from... Northampton.
She was so beautiful but wore so much make-up I worried about how her skin was going to look after a few years.
Anyway, Tessa, if you're reading this.

Hope your skin's OK.
Also, don't forget, if you wear loads of white face powder, it makes your teeth look more yellow that they actually are.
Just sayin'.

You need to wear a dark foundation if you want white looking teeth.

I expected them to be Goth Metal version of Suede.
