It is over.

That was pleasant but contained nothing that would make you give them a contract. John basically disappeared without trace after the first two tracks. Macca was so obsessed with trying to sound like Elvis Presley that he barely failed to express his oen identity. George was also obsessed with trying to sound like Elvis Presely but actually improved as a result of it. And Pete seemed to be just playing along with whatever he decided the others were up to, as thjough he'd never really heard the songs before.

Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it. Excited

It's rubbish, but it's an invaluable, historically significant document with a bona fide amusing back-story of a battle against the elements etc...

I'm guessing that ultimately Epstein was as good a hustler as there was.

I spose he did ship them off to Hamburg not too long after.

All of the covers were inferior to the originals, and the one song they wrote was a nothing-Burger.

It sounded amateurish, with nothing to make them stand out from the million beat combos, other than the bass playing was alright, and the singer on Money.

And the whole thing sounded like a Cliff Throwback*, get with it daddio, this is 1962, we want a new sound!

I believe it was Epstein who decided they should do a mountain of covers at the audition, to show the record company that they could tackle any style of music.
