This is all a bit aimless.

This early to mid-'80s stuff is just an experiment in how far he can push pure production as a musical form in itself.

If you know anything about music of this era BTW, you'll become aware of how he invades every nook and cranny of every record made during the period.

Look at the liner notes of Cliff's album after "Rock 'n Roll Juvenile" for example.
