Jackrabbit Slim or John Bobbitt Snip?
Re: Steve Forbert – Jackrabbit Slim (1979)
That one had too many words. I don't care if your English teacher liked it, cut out half of them. PS I am not a krank.

Now it's gone a bit Paul Simon.
Even touches of the Reggae Hammond organ.

This is a nice one. Mostly because of surprise chord changes.

It is over.
That was pleasant but a little too pleasant to maintain my interest.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

This is my favourite Steve Forbert song, mostly because it's more uneasy than the stuff on that album.

It is a very nice album.
It verges wildly and frequently into the badlands of Totally Inoffensive to such a degree to its detriment though.
He seems to have 2, possibly 3 songs.
All of which are pleasant.
Sometimes they come together to become something very joyous - albeit fairly basically - wonderful.
Other times you just find yourself wondering if can change even his own record?
Still...
It is what it is.
That's what my tutor at art school taught me.
