I've got to be strong for little Fred, give him lots of love and attention.

Syd was off her food a bit, same as before, but nowhere near as bad. She'd had a lovey day, flying about, sitting on my hand, giving me a light nibbling, absolutely attacking some celery we gave her, usual afternoon snooze, and thump.

I reckon it was like at the end of Watership Down (1978) when Frith comes to take Hazel away and they both dance off into the misty gloaming in an eternal dance of joy.

It's ever so quiet without that little horror squawking at me to come out, Squawking to be put back, Squawking be to feed, Squawking for attention, squawking for no reason, eating the furniture, wallpaper, coving, my fingers, attacking Fred, attacking me etc etc.

Fred lovely and gentle, but it's not the bundle of personality that Syd was.

I miss that little blue monster.

Birds getting a bit weird, Ziggy's getting all frisky, I think they'll be another set of eggs soon, and the Budgie, who's over at the mo is getting all intrested, coming over to have a nibble when Ziggy eats, I think he misses his little flock.

Seems friendly though, I wouldn't have trusted Syd anywhere near the canary.
