Encouraging words or dissuading mutterings?
Re: Billy Preston - Encouraging Words (1970)
Well, I like it.
In truth it doesn't exactly scrape the skies of ambition, but it's charming and lively more-or-less throughout.
Ultimately, I can't really say anything bad about Billy Preston.
He was a fab, talented, vivacious, albeit messed up, guy, loved and respected by many many musicians many many times more famous and celebrated than he ever was.
He was essentially a vitally important enabler - a conduit and coalescent energetic force - who was able to bring together conflicting creative egos.
★★★★
