Re: The bicycle thread
The saddle's now at the sorting office.
It has yet to be transferred to the town of its destination.

It arrived literally 15 minutes before I had to leave the house to attend to important business.

Did you attend to your important business via your bike?

Re: The bicycle thread
I did not, as I didn't have time to attach the new saddle.
And I would have had to ride it through the city centre, which would be scary.

They're bringing back the Raleigh Chopper.
https://www.bikeradar.com/news/2023-raleigh-chopper/
Raleigh says fans have been demanding a new Chopper for decades and that it has undertaken four years of research and product development to create the new bike.
The new Raleigh Chopper features many of the same features as the Chopper MK2, including the one-piece saddle and mid-frame gear stick.
Raleigh says a limited-edition release of the Chopper will be available to purchase online via its website from 12pm on 20 June.

I have just inflated my bike's tyres, ready for riding it, this summer.

I've had it for three years and one month and still haven't managed to get it out of the house yet.

I don't think it's the bike's fault. Or the house's.

Re: The bicycle thread
When I was a kid I was utilised by a friend of my Mum's (who ran a bicycle repair shop on All Saints Road) as a bicycle reviewer for a bicycle magazine.
Basically, he'd get bikes as freebies and they'd be passed onto me to ride and play with as a child would.
Rag them to blue-boogery basically.
Best job I ever had.

I was going to give my bike a test ride today but things got in the way.
I shall make another attempt tomorrow.

Re: The bicycle thread
I’ve been on mine about twice a week. Would’ve been more but for the dreadful weather.
I’m becoming less saddle sore, but I still feel like drivers and pedestrians hate me, so I’ve only been going out on it after dark, late at night.

Re: The bicycle thread
Who’s Matt Black?
I listen to nothing except the traffic and the rest of my surroundings, because I’m not Gen Zor any other kind of halfwit with a death wish who takes to the streets with one of my senses knocked out.
Not living in Portsmouth, neither have I sailed out into a roundabout at rush hour in the firm belief the traffic lights don’t apply to me, and then faulted everyone else on the road for my almost ending up dead.
