It's a weird album that.
I guess that because he died relatively young he's been mythologised excessively by the Boomers who were aghast at proto-punk, punk and all that came in following few years.
Werewolves of London is triffically entertaining song - unreconstructed bluesy rock with clever, witty lyrics - but the rest just lacks any real identity, albeit never at all bad.
At worst, just underwhelming...

Actually, on reflection, one thing it does have going for it is that it's extremely short.
This is the kind of album and genre that would normally have tacked on at least a full minute to each track.
The albums brevity in that regard is positively punk.
In fairness, we can only be grateful.
