You can currently get a bag of six or seven apples from a stall in Sheffield's Moor Market for just 50p. Everyone rush over there, quick! Excited

No thanks. I want those prawn toasts safely out of my stomach and into my guts before I eat anything else, even cheap apples.

For my tea tonight I had a pack of those fancy Tesco sandwiches that come in a paper bag. Chicken and chorizo, reduced from £2.66 to £1.23.

I've just dined off cheap tuna sandwiches and frugal focaccie.

They tasted perfectly fresh.

The bargain bin also had about 30 of those suspicious-looking Rustlers microwave beefburger+bap things in it, for 82p each. I was very tempted to try one, but I remembered that beef rolls heavily through my digestive system like musket balls.

I should have mentioned, that's alliteration where I come from.

I got some 'it's our day' mushrooms for 10p from the Co-op. I had them fried in butter as an hors d'oeuvre to my oven baked fish and chips, and they were fliping delicious.

I got some reduced ham and reduced tomatoes from the Co-op, and I made hot toasted ham and tomato sandwiches, which were delicious.

I think I may have been subconsciously inspired by Wendi's hot pork pie experiment.

Ooh! Ooh!

That reminds me!

The other day I went in the new Sainsbur' on Abbey Road and put a pack of vege-mince in my basket (price £2.75) and then, when I got to the till, they had a trolley full of stuff being re-priced for the cheapy-bin and they had multiple packets of the beforementioned vege-mince...

For 20p! Excited

I returned my original purchase and bought 3. smug

Also, I needed 2 Spanish omelettes from the Tesco Express. Normally I just buy one, but I wanted a backup for the Christmas period. When I came to pay for them, I discovered they were £4 for 2, saving me £2.
