Well, I didn't enjoy that very much at all.

Too plasticky, too generic, too like other bands who weren't very good either.

The production was especially overbearingly nasty as well - more '90s crunchy, but still coldly '80s bland.

Yes, nasty.

There was that one song that was quite good, but it was written by someone else (and was a pastiche of the Phil Spector sound).

I think you could say that it was all quite likely something they were pleased with in terms of 'product', but sadly, for them, the band's lack of enduring success in the longer run is the thing that underscores any self-satisfaction they might've had.

A forgettable sub-genre band of their time.
