Now we can listen to the whole album again as Chic originally mixed it.

It is over.
That was a pleasant album with strong singles, that suffered from undue repetitiveness, and some of the non-singles were a bit uninspired in the songwriting stakes.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

Actually, it sounds terrific.

I think I prefer these original mixes, they do sound more dated though.

Anyway I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm looking forward to getting into Motown when I'm older, retired, scared of modern music, and I've got time for it.

The Chic mixes are strange.
You can see why the band preferred them, but they're too technical and everything's mixed in a way that makes all the elements sound disembodied.
Still, you can hear so much more.
Ultimately, the mixes from the original release sound more crunchy and coherent and suited to radio play.
