I didn't realise there was a 1984 Christmas Carol. I'm going to have to find out if it's the 1984 or 1970 one that terrified me as a child. I'm pretty sure it was the 1970 one.

Oh g*sh, they're both in full on YouTube. I'm going to have to flick through them and therefore have nightmares tonight. ![bawl](/users/3715/63/33/29/smiles/540545940.gif)

It's not that one - it doesn't even look like he descended to Hell, the bit that always stuck in my head for years.

It's definitely this. I always remembered a man touching the burning walls of Hell (at 2:20), and for years didn't know what film it was. It was on one gentle Sunday afternoon when we were at my grandparents' - I can only have been 4 or 5 and it stayed with me for years. And years.

The George C Scott one is the only one.

Re: What's in your Christmas eyeballs?
My brother was moaning about there being no Carry On films to watch. I reminded him that I had the complete DVD set upstairs in my personal parents' house drawer, but he didn't want to watch any of those.
He said if we chose a film it would inhibit him from complaining all the way through about how terrible it was. And that part of the fun was having sub-standard films forced on him by ITV3.
In the end I desperately proposed the College Admissions scandal documentary on Netflix, which to my surprise he and mum were captivated by, and spent the rest of the evening discussing. Several times saying what a good suggestion I'd made![bowtie](/users/3715/63/33/29/smiles/176019006.gif)

North by North West is on BBC2.
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is on ITV1.
The Great Escape is on Channel 4.
That's the most Christmas lineup ever.
